Part Revisions

thanks, will try this tomorrow.. the procedure we gave our engineers on how to add parts had steps to create revision 0 description initial but, as always they say "we don't have time to do all of that......" just trying to fix stuff before I do the live upgrade from 8 to 9..

If parts don't have a revision, they shouldn't appear in the PartRev table.
To find parts without a rev, you'd need to do an outter join from part to
partrev and then filter out the parts that have a rev listed.

As we implement Vantage 6.10, we want to use the revision controls
for the parts. The following question came up about revisions on
parts used on subassemblies:

If Part 123 goes from Rev A to Rev B and is used on Subassembly 789,
which in turn is used in Finished Good "Widget", when (if ever) do
you change the revision on either Sub 789 or "Widget" to also
reflect that Part 123 has changed?

This is more of a process issue than a Vantage issue, but the
revision management tools Vantage offers brought up the question and
I wondered what everyone else does. (You DON'T want to know how we
are handling this now!)

You don't....Just make sure that part 123 is documented with a
revision change (ie: drawing revision, vantage revision).

Trying to find all parts without a revision through a BAQ so I can dump it and set them using DMT. Nothing in Part revision table?? Where is this kept?
