Parts that do not move

Clive, don't despair. It won't be until patch C that they will work right.

FYI for those preparing for the upgrade to 406...I still had to go thru
all BAQs to find the ones with missing joins after upgrading to 406 on
our test server. However, I did come up with a method that saved me
tons of time when I upgraded our live system. I found I could add the
missing joins in 406, export the BAQs fixed in 406 and import them into
our live system (404A). They worked fine in 404A. (I did take the
precaution of exporting the 404A BAQ versions just in case!) When I
converted the database again, the BAQs remained fixed and no new BAQs
showed up with missing joins. I ran the 406 and 406A upgrades last
weekend on our live system. There were no BAQs with missing joins after
the conversion. I had made some changes under the 404A version to a few
of the BAQs I'd fixed under 406 and imported back into 404A, they came
thru the conversion just fine. Hope my experiment saves some of you
time at conversion.
Does anyone know of a way to create a report or 2 reports that will show

1. Parts that have do not have a Sales order

2. Purchased parts that have not been issued to a job.

My financial department wants a list of all Parts that have not had any
activity since 10/31/2007

Thank you

Jeff

Check out the PartDtl table.

This is a table with demands on parts. You need the opposite.

Parts NOT listed in this table are your targets.

If you need help writing the query let us know.

Jeff,
Create a BAQ to export to Excel for active Parts with an outer-join to the last PartTran entry with a transaction date >= 31/10/2007 and a Transaction type of (STK-CUS, STK-MTL, etc etc).
When you open the file in Excel, any entry which doesn't values in the PartTran values hasn't moved since 31/10/2007.
We use this approach to identify slow/non-moving parts and it (seems to) works OK.

Regards,
Richard
