Patch Download Not Working

I just loaded the 522 patch on this weekend, could you tell me what the problem is that you are experiencing with the WIP capture and post, so I can be prepared?

It just sits there saying "Gathering File Information" and never kicks in to ask where I want to save it to. Other files like the PDF "What's New" work fine. Even if I right click 'Download Now" and "Save Target as..." it does the same thing.

I feel having the latest patch is critical to the upgrade. Has anyone else been experiencing problems recently (today) downloading patches? Is this maybe a support site problem?

OK, It's not the download site. Different problem. Downloads fine when done on server but hangs on my PC (Win2K). Seems I've had other download issues lately from my PC with other sites. Sometimes works sometimes hangs. So, if someone has an idea about this behavior I would aprpeciate any possible clues.

Eeek! So it's no patch or risky patch being as how there is only one patch available for download. I would suspect that the CD's patch level is also missing a lot of fixes since 6.0 first came out.

So which route is least evil? No patch or 522?

Patch 521 worked fine, support has our database and is suppose to have a fix early next week.

But 521 is not available for download. Seems to me the only way around it is to download every new patch as the are made available, even for release we are not on yet (like 6.1) just incase we want an older one.

We have had similar problems downloading which I first noticed on win2k a
machine but later it became an issue for others as well. Our comms support
set up squid proxy server, by removing the 'use proxy server' setting from
IE6 communications setup I can get the downloads to complete. Our comms
support say there is nothing wrong with squid, but if I go via the proxy
server the download fails EVERY time.
