To pay for a lunch break, set up a shift differential. In Shift Maintenance, select the shift you want to pay the lunch for. The shift and lunch start and end times should already be entered. In the Differential fields, enter the rate. This calculation will be the number of hours for lunch divided by the number of hours actually worked. Example: we have a 10 hour swing shift that is paid for ½ hour lunch. Formula: .5 / 9.5 = 5.264 (rounded up). The system will multiply the percentage of 5.264 times the hours worked and pay for the additional hours. Example: if paying for a 40 hour week, the employee will have actually worked 38 hours X 5.264% = 2 additional hours. This can be confusing on the payroll check stub because it will only show the actual hours worked (38) but the dollar amount paid will include the shift differential amount. Hope this helps you.

Subject: [Vantage] Pay for lunch break
We want to pay employees for 1/2 hour lunch.
They clock out for lunch but often are gone longer than 1/2 hour.
We thought there was an option on Shift to check box for a paid lunch.
Can anyone tell me where that is?
