Payroll / Biometrics

If the Hardware a fairly standard interface either via COM or some sort of SDK. which assume it does then the integration should be pretty trivial.

We are looking to implement several biometrics clock in and out station.

Epicor has one that they use from Pioneer POS for $2,500, which employees can scan their finger to clock in and out of payroll, plus $2,500 for the custom code that allows the fingerprint software to talk with Epicor.

Considering the hardware to scan the finger print is $100 (as quoted by Epicor) it seems a little too pricey to spend $10,000 on three clock in stations (we have 3 buildings) when we can spend $300 on just the hardware.

Besides Epicor's custom code, what have you guys used to get the finger scanner to talk with Epicor?  Can Service Connect do this?  Even if it's just to upload it to a UD table, I can write BPMs to update the payroll info.

We are on Epicor 10.1
