We had the same issue. Not wanting to re-write a payroll report, we
tried printing the document to a text file and then writing a program
on the outside of the system to delete the vacation line, enter a blank
line, and print the text file.
We're on 5.0, Tec says the payroll checks are a progress report and we can't
change. True? How about 5.1? The last line on the stub prints on the last
centimeter of the check. We would like to move that up one line.
This was brought up at the last North East Users Group meeting...I have had
this issue since Version 3. I was given all the tips like adjusting the
font and such. If I remember there was a consensus that we did want this as
an adjustable report.
My request was noted for 5.1 (not implemented) and now has been noted for 6.
It needs to become important to everyone before it will be addressed.
Maybe someone else can suggest the best method to get this addresses
further.

I think there is a suggestion out there somewhere that I have added my name
to in the past. I have been wishing for it forever as well.

This issue has been around for a number of years. I have decided that there
is simply not enough Vantage payroll users out there to get any leverage.
On the Cairo survey a year ago this issue ended up 12th from the bottom of
appr. 200 items voted on. All of the payroll items were in the bottom 15 or
20. Only the top 25 from this survey made it to the next round (current
survey) so you can see how far away from getting any attention payroll is.
Not good news for us payroll users. Maybe all payroll users should get
together and surround Minneapolis !! (nope, wouldn't be enough people)

I think Tim (Epicor) did mention that he was aware of the issue. I think it
was my first post on this list, and without a doubt remains one of my most
passionate issues to date. That right beside making the inactivate button
stop any further transaction against the inactive item. You know, like a
box that says, "part xxxx that is called out in this job is inactive, would
you please reconsider?". Not to get off the subject...

Jerry, we may not be many, but we can be loud! :)

After talking with Epicor's tech support, they claim there is now way
to customize the payroll check. I'm trying to remove the Vacation and
Sick time line from printing. Anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks,

--SF
Is it possible to remove the Vacation / Sick line from the Payroll
checks? Epicor says for security reasons you can not alter that
report. Can somebody please confirm if this is possible or not.

Thanks,

--SF
I know for 6.1 that is true - you can't alter it, but not sure for 8.x.
