If you had a Caesars Connection card and/or a Harrah's Total Gold card from past Perspectives you may be interested int he following. If not just skip this message.
On a related Perspectives note...while at the registration site I noted the Caesars Palace reservation number and decided there was no point in putting off getting the room arranged. The reservation agent was somewhat impressed by the large size of the block of rooms so perhaps fewer people will end up at the Flamingo, Ballys or Paris. While making the reservation, as a standard practice, I gave him my slot club card number. Never hurts because then at check-in they see it and if free upgrades are available you have a slightly better chance. Also, if you played a lot more than I did last year at any of the Caesars properties you may be eligible for casino rate consideration - perhaps enough for an upgrade from a regular Palace Tower room to a Premier Palace Tower room (formerly Petite Suite). The agent said their was no conference rate on this type of room and the "regular" rate was $338/nt. So if anyone has the play history it might be worthwhile.
One important note on this however...Caesars Palace is now owned by Harrah's. If you had a "Connections" card at CP your points are now in a Harrah's account. If you also had a Harrah's Total Gold card that number is now your "Total Rewards" number and you will find any Caesars points in that account. Apparently in the takeover they decided to not "scrub" the points from the Caesars Entertainment accounts at Caesars Palace, Ballys, Flamingo and Paris. I found I had $43 of "credit" carried over to the new system. Having a Total Rewards number in your reservation may also help preserve any leftover amount too by triggering some activity.
I've included all this just so that those people going to Perspectives and making room reservations in the near future, who had both Caesars and Harrah's accounts, might be able to swing a better rate or an upgrade by giving them the number. Can't hurt. You can check a Harrah's account at www.harrahs.com and click on Total Rewards and then sign in. Note...you can find out how "big" your chances of comps or upgrades are by viewing the page source in your browser for your account page and then scrolling down. There is a section with a lot of "data". Look for Prop18, Prop19 and Prop20 lines - these are your average session, daily and yearly theoretical loss rates derived from your amount of play. Any number over 150 might make it worthwhile when speaking to reservation agent to ask for a casino host to review your status. Casino rate on a room may be lower than the group rate.
Incase any of this helps someone.
Good luck.
