Phantom Purge Transaction Date [V8.03.403D]

Calvin,

The posting date is typically the date you run the capture through (in
this instance should have been 7/31). It is very easy, however, to make
a mistake and run it with the wrong date. If you go into the Capture
COS/WIP Activity like you are going to run it, the information on the
right is when the last time it was run and will show you the period that
was set.

Subject: [Vantage] Phantom Purge Transaction Date [V8.03.403D]

What date is used for the transaction date of MFG-VAR transactions when
running the Capture WIP process?

Running the WIP report always shows the current date for the "Phantom
Purge WIP to COS", for jobs that had cost added after they shipped, but
before they were closed.

When we ran the Capture WIP process on the 1st of the month (8/1,
period 11), but using the last day of last month (7/31, period 10) for
the capture date, the process posted the Phantom Purge transactions
using the 8/1(period 11) date.

At first I would have thought that the Job Closed Date would be used.
My next guess would have been the date selected in the Capture WIP
process. But it looks like it uses the physical date the Capture is
run.

Is this normal? Or should I scrutinze the people who ran the
functions, and assume they accidently ran the Capture with an 8/1 date?

Thanks,

Calvin Krusen
