Subject: [Vantage] Physical Inventory & Multiple Bins

We are doing our first physical inventory with Vantage and we had a question
regarding how quantities are posted with multiple bins.

Scenario: We have a part number that has one warehouse location, but 2 bin
locations. In doing inventory, 2 tags are printed, one for each location.
OK, we're good with that. Now, in reality there is only 1 bin location, so
one tag comes in as not used, the other has the quantity counted on it. I
see two possibilities. One is to void the tag for the bin that in reality
is not being used, the other is just to put the quantity in as 0. Per the
help file under Count Tag Maintenance, voiding a tag and then posting the
count adjusts the on-hand quantity to zero. The real question: does the
adjusting to zero only apply to the bin for the voided tag, or does it apply
to the entire part quantity, regardless of bin?

I know this may sound like a silly question, but there is always one who
asks!

Thanks for all the help.

Setting to zero only for the bin for that tag.
