Physical Inventory on 4.0

We did a full physical inventory on vantage 4.0 for the first time a couple
weeks ago. We did not have any problems.

Good Luck!

Subject: [Vantage] Physical Inventory on 4.0

Hi,

I am planning on upgrading two locations next week from Vantage 3.0 to 4.0.
I
wanted to see if anyone has encountered any "gotcha's" on the version 4.0
Count
Entry program. More specifically when running a Full Physical. As we are
preparing for the end of year physical there are some concerns from the
Materials Managers (and Controller) about whether or not to upgrade.

In reviewing the update documentation I didn't see any major enhancements to
the
Count Entry program but any real world feedback, positive or negative, about
Count Entry on 4.0 would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi Mike

The only problem we have encountered with a full physical is in the area of
batch/lot numbers for lot tracked parts.
If you are not using lot tracking all other functionality works fine for us
and we have done 3 full physicals and some single warehouses too.
Problem occurs when for example you need to add a tag into a count group for
a new batch number of material that has been found at stocktake when you try
to add the new batch number of the material you get the "create new lot"
message OK but when you say yes you get an error message and cannot get past
it. There is a workaround in that on the first time through when you create
an additional tag you key in an existing batch number and then when that is
accepted you can then go back and amend the lot number to the correct new
one you wish to enter and it will accept it second time through but not on
the first. It is tedious and annoying for the person keying particularly if
you have a lot of compensating differences from mis-issues at the batch
number level as we do. This problem is logged with the help desk but deemed
non urgent.
Hope this helps
