Picking Tickets and Purchase Orders

Quick and easy way of getting the correct instruction to shipping is to add a comment in Job Order - Sub Contract Operation entry (or in Quote entry). You would need to write down what the subcontractor expects to receive and needs to do anyway. The comment will flow thru to the Purchase Order and to the Subcontract Shipment Packing List.

Subject: [Vantage] Picking Tickets and Purchase Orders

We routinely modify standard items and sell them as made to order specials.
Many of these are sent out to be modified by a subcontractor. For instance,
the finished special part number is 72144-C9503. A 72144 is a standard
item. A 69614 is a similar standard item. In this case the BOM for the
special C9503 said to modify a standard 69614. The shipping department
looked at the 72144-C9503 part number and pulled a standard 72144 and sent
it out to be modified. Normally shipping gets handed the parts and the
picking ticket. In this case the subcontract op was the first operation and
shipping was supposed to pull the item. The job traveler was correct but it
was not looked at. (Yes, I know this is a solution).

I don't want shipping to have to look through travelers that routinely have
a dozen pages with several in-process drawings and sub-assemblies attached.
Can the BOM print automatically on the Picking Ticket and /or Purchase Order
in some fashion?

Thanks,
