Hello,
I’m setting up ship via codes and I see that there is a Tracking Website section. We have the URL’s that we need, but I’m unsure of whether or not I need to enter anything in the Placeholder text field. Will this cause an error when communicating with Manifest? The previous analyst entered %1 inside of the Placeholder field for all of our ship vias, does anyone know what this means?

I’m guessing the prior person used the %1 as the place holder. Such that:

  • URL was like:
    http://fedex.com/Tracking?tracknumbers=%1&cntry_code=us
  • Placeholder is %1

So a packer with tracking number 1234QWERTY5678 generates a tracking URL of
http://fedex.com/Tracking?tracknumbers=1234QWERTY5678&cntry_code=us

Important: This field is optional only if the URL field is left blank. If the URL field has a site address, the Placeholder field cannot be blank and must include a portion of the URL value entered into that field.

This placeholder goes in the URL as given below:

http://www.clarkelink.com/trackandtrace_quick.aspx?p=EpicorTrackingNumber

In this case we call our place holder EpicorTracking Number as shown below.
