We’re trying out Planning Contracts in our company. I have a question about the “Link to Contract” checkbox on the Part record. Obviously we need to have it checked to add parts to a contract, but what is the downside to just having it enabled for all parts? I can’t come up with a reason that you wouldn’t want it checked.

We recently had this checkbox checked by accident on a part that was also set as a Backflush part. We found that the backflush transaction was NOT happening for this part because of this being checked on the job material. It seemed that the system was looking for the Contract to grab the parts from but it was blank (as expected) so didn’t complete the transaction.
