I’ll be planning/scheduling jobs for our company.
I understand unfirm job creation and conditions required for MRP to generate - Sales Order need by date, approved part rev, qty bearing, set as manufactured etc.
What confuses me is everything seems to populate as a job suggestion in planning workbench - even unfirm jobs?
I thought PWB is supposed to show demand changes to firmed jobs(postpone,expedite,qty change,cancel etc) after MRP runs?
Seems if it shows everything it will get pretty muddy quick - especially since we create a out 15 sales orders per week with 15-20 manufacturing jobs each containing very complex Methods with several subassemblies.
It will, use the search feature and note a list is produced this shows Date Changes Qty Changes and what would be a new Job.
One item you should also use the the Production Planner Workbench this shows you jobs with and without shortages one of the most usefull tools we found.
I forgot you will need to run a process to fill the Production Planner Workbench prior to viewing. You can run this manually if you like to begin with its called “Production Planner Process” we now have ours setup to run after MRP in a process set and this is controlled time a day to run through the systems agent.
