Thanks

Summary: MISC Search enhancement

Book: Change Requests

PAGE 14455MPS

Search enhancements for Version 8.X

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

If you start to enter a field and then decide to do a search to complete
the entry, Vantage starts over. Example: Enter the first 3 characters of
a part in Part Maintenance, click on the search button. The search
window comes up without any information from the previous screen. The
operator must then re-key the first three characters to start the
search.

SUGGESTED ENHANCEMENT:

My request is when the user enters say 3 characters in the part number
field (for example) and then clicks search (or uses the keyboard command
to activate the search) the users data - the 3 characters entered - is
moved to the "start at" field in the search dialogue screen and the
resulting grid immediately displays from that value - knowing that the
sort by is part number.

VERSION:

8.00

Not sure who to call in UK, but I very much support this suggestion.
It is something that our users have complained about as they hark back
to previous versions of Vantage. It would also be useful to be able to
customize the default selections in the drop-down boxes on the search
screen, and even set the focus on the default textbox. I should start
my own enhancement suggestions if Epicor actually listens!
