PLM Pro.file

We use the PLM system with Solidworks and Vantage 6.1, but we did not
go thru Vantage. Instead we went with PLM-Experts out of the
Netherlands (long story there) The implementation does take a while,
but as of now we create parts in Solidworks and the part and the BOM
transfers to Vantage. It took us about 1.5 years to get everyone on
board, but our engineers were coming over from AutoCad to
Solidworks. We did take 1 engineer out of production for 1 month so
we could roll out the PLM faster. So an engineer wouldnt start using
the PLM system until they were on Solidworks. The PLM is very
customizable, and we are always trying to get the system to work for
us as much as possible (less clicks of the mouse, the better).

Our biggest challange now is printing. We want the job number,
assembly number & description and the quantity placed on the
solidworks drawing.

I am told that the "Vantage" PLM is very vanilla in its offering.
Remember that it is just a SQL dbase and can be modified to fit your
needs. I can give you the name of my PLM consultant and they would
happy to help you.

That is my 2 cents.
Jeff

We are looking to implement PRO.FILE (Vantage's PLM Solution) within
the next couple of weeks. Is there any one out there that can give me
a heads up on this software and if it was difficult to implement.

Thank you in advance!

Any luck with this so far? We're just getting started with Vantage
implementation and Pro.file was sold to us as well :)

We're running solidworks.
I don't know where you are at with this process, but implementing PLM
with Vantage 6.1 was a nightmare for us. Actually we have had PLM over 3
years now and we still aren't using it. We are finally to the point of
using it but now since we are upgrading to 8.03.400 we have to upgrade
the PLM and we are just going to start all over because it was never
working right in the first place. If we had to do it over again I would
go with a different document management solution.

Any luck with this so far? We're just getting started with Vantage
implementation and Pro.file was sold to us as well :)

We're running solidworks.
