Our purchasing department is having an issue with the Promise Date and Lock Qty check box that they would like us to resolve but we haven't had much luck with Epicor.
When the buyer generates a PO from PO suggestions and goes to PO Entry to review the Order/Line/Release, they click the lock quantity box on the release. The issue we have is that the Promise Date auto-populates with the release due date when the Lock Qty box is checked. Our buyers don't want the Promise Date field to auto-populate. They want to manually enter the Promise Date when the supplier confirms the delivery date.
Our current work around is to manually override the Promise Date with 12/31/2049 to show other users that this PO is not confirmed by the supplier. This consumes more of their time and is open for data entry errors.
Can we stop the Promise Date from auto-populating when we lock quantities?
Can we set up the system so when a PO is created, the Lock Qty check box is set to True on the PO release?
Any help is appreciated.
