We are using Min/Max planning for a part configured as:
Min = 3
Max = 4
On Hand = 0
Open PO = 2 (due 2/10/26)
No Safety Stock
No Time Fence
No Planning Contracts
No Change Suggestions
We don’t use MRP
The projected inventory position is: 2. Since 2 is below Min (3), our business expectation is that Epicor should generate a NEW PO suggestion for 2 units (to bring inventory to Max = 4). However, Epicor doesn’t generate any suggestions for it.
Understanding that Epicor’s min/max logic is shortage driven and not buffer driven, is there a way to create a bpm to account for the logic we expect to see being used?
Shallow end of the pool… can you verify “Generate Suggestions” is turned on for that part on the Part Master?
Deep end of the pool, one “gotcha” that we’ve experienced is, if there is an open RFQ for the part… you won’t get any new suggestions.
So, if this part had a suggestion at some point and Buyer converted that to an RFQ, Epicor won’t generate any additional suggestions. It will wait for the RFQ to be completed with a response.
