I don’t understand how Epicor managed to make the power tools install completely unusable. The cloud client install has been working fine for years. Instead of leveraging that existing system that precompiled a working sysconfig file without the user having to manually type in any url, made a whole new system that does not work. Now, when we download the power tools install, we have to manually type in the url. Why? I was logged into the system when I downloaded it? Next, I change the directory, because if I need to connect to both Live and Pilot, I can’t have them both in the same directory or they will conflict with eachother when they are on different releases. Again, another problem that has been solved for literal years in the cloud client installer which nicely places live and pilot into separate directories. I click the box to make my desktop shortcuts and . . . no shortcuts are created. Then on top of that, it creates an unusable sysconfig file with no file name at all, that I have to manually rename and move up into the correct directory, because the installer incorrectly splits on the word server in the url. Anybody else frustrated with this nonsense?
When I go to the saas download site, it should just install Power tools instead of the client. And it should work the same way the client install has always worked, with separate directories per environment, correctly named config files, and desktop shortcuts that I don’t have to create by hand. Too much to ask? /endrant
