PRINTING Blank Title 57796

I was able to make it work on the datamax printers. I had to go
into the driver options and override the manufacturer
Specifications.
I set the max media and max print areas to 8.5" Then I set the
Printer settings to 8.5 X 11. Everything printed fine. Not sure
why though.

Thanks for everyones suggestions.

I am having a heck of a time printing from Vantage.
When I Print from Crystal my form prints correct, but when I print it
from crystal report viewer it does is way different and I do not get
bar codes. Any ideas where I can start looking for the problem
I've had issues where the barcode font needs to be installed on the computer you are printing from that the report uses. Also make sure your checking the check box to print bar codes if one exists.

It looks like you may have a mismatched set of Crystal .dll files. You can
solve the issue either by downloading the latest service pack/hot fix for
your version of Crystal's runtime files or install the full version on each
workstation that needs to print the bar coded reports.

Well I updated everything. Still I print the material tags to a 4x6
label from crystal and it works fine. When I print from runtime it
is actually
making my printer fault after it only prints a portion of the label
but in the wrong spot. I am wondering what could be going on that
is different from the two. I would think is was the printer if I
could not print it from either spot.

Just out of curiosity...what brand and model of label printer?
I had a similar issue once upon a time with a Zebra printer that no amount of driver tweaking was going to fix. Ended up it was "required" to lie to the driver about the firmware rev level on the printer. It would print great from everything (Word, Excel, CR Developer,...) except CR runtime from within Vantage.

Have datamax printers, I have tried M4203, Allegro 2, E4203.
None of them will work

Can someone who is successfully printing 4x6 Material tags from
Vantage 8.03 let me know what printer/s they are using to do it.

Having a strange issue now .. If I set my default printer to a
regular laser printer and do a print preview then choose the tag
printer and set it's properties to the size it will work.
But when the viewer used the tag printer as the default with the
same setting it will not. Just hoping maybe someone can help me
narrow down in any way what could be wrong.

Michael,

I have printed labels printing Zebra LP2844 printers. I think what
you need to do is in Crystal change the form borders. Below is a help
document that I received from Epicor tech support that helped me with
the issue you are describing. Hope it helps.

Summary: Labels are not printing to the Label printer
Book: Support Solutions
Page: 6110MPS

Labels
Crystal Reports
Label printer

Problem Description:

When either the Label printer (Intermec or Zebra) or the Laserjet
(HPLaserjet5) is set as default in Windows, the labels will either
print blank, or receive an error message in the System Monitor to run
the report in preview mode. Once you run the report in preview mode
from the System Monitor, the label previews fine, but still prints
blank if you attempt to print it from the preview.

Problem Resolution:

The labels will print as long as the Label printer driver's Printing
Preferences -> Page Setup is set to 4x6 as default as the
standard/canned label was developed for the 4x6 size. (Or the Page
Setup needs to match to the label size of what was developed in
Crystal Reports when creating labels from scratch.)

Also in Crystal Reports in design mode for the Label, the margin
width can not be any larger than 3.7. To access this in Crystal:
1. Bring up the Label in Crystal Reports
2. In the Section area (Grey area to the left) right-click in the
Details section and choose Section Expert.
3. The sections (Report Header, Page Header, Details, etc.)
Highlight the Details section and choose the Layout tab on the right.
4. The Details size Width can not be anything higher than 3.7 in.
for a Standard 4x6 portrait size label.
5. Hit Ok.

Back in Design mode of the Label, some of the fields maybe off the
page on the right hand side margin. These fields may need to be
adjusted or made smaller so they are not running off the right side
of the margin page. Once these adjustments have been made, the
label should print directly to the Label printer without error and
with data printing on it.

Additional Information:
Some Label Printers or Label sizes may require adjustment of the
Layout Width even smaller.
