Our errors / Lockups occur in a non-ODBC environment.

Is the form altered and using ODBC. I've found that sometimes an altered
form using ODBC can cause some weird occurances because of the data set of
that document.

This is not Spam! (Just kidding)

I have one pc that locks up randomly when the person prints out P/O and
Job Traveler forms. Some days, not at all. Some days (like today) 4 times.

This requires a re-boot, which then finishes the print routine just fine.
Until later (maybe).

Any thoughts on where to start?

When we were on 4.0, we had this problem as well. It would happen only on a
couple of PC's and was totally random. I called tech support about it and
tried different things but none of them fixed it. I don't remember even
what they were now, this was nearly 2 years ago.

Since we've been on 5.0, we have not had the problem and we never saw it on
3.0 either. Sorry I can't help more.

Rick,

We have the same problem here - prowin32 errors that freeze up progress -
only on the three computers that all share the same Lexmark printer (mine
being one of them). I do not have to reboot however, I just go to task
manager and end task on progress - that will close vantage. We are on
5.10.119 (incidently - our company ID is still 'test'), but I have been
experiencing this for quite some time. I will be watching for answers as
well.

Our few 98 machines that prints crystal forms have this problem. The
machines we converted to 2000 no longer have this problem.

We have W95 and W98 machines printing Crystal with no problems whatsoever. The few machines that have had lock up problems in different areas usually were cleared up after a clean install of Windows (on the same version).

How much memory are in the faulty machines, and what is your -Bt setting in your vantage.pf file?
The -Bt setting allocates memory on the client machine for running the Vantage reports. I think default is 200. I set it to 2000 one time and found a few machines lacking sufficient memory locked up. Our current setting is -Bt 600.
