Printing Material Tags

Mike, we are looking at the exact same issue. We want to be able at any
time to print a label for a part, mainly for when it leaves our store,
and the next person cannot identify what it is. Is this the same thing
you want or are you looking for a label generated when you receive
stock.
You seem more advanced than us though. I have not had time to look into
what sort of label printers, or labels are available. I would be glad if
you could describe your current setup.
Did you have to set up a VB Form to generate your label, or did you use
another method?

Of course, I am sure both Mike and myself would be keen to hear from
others who are printing small labels successfully.

Thanks
Stuart

Subject: [Vantage] Printing Material Tags

We are currently looking to implement the process of printing material
tags, for our raw material, directly out of Vantage. The problem I am
encountering is that it appears that the format page size of the
default crystal form is 8 1/2 X 11 and I am looking to print on 2X4
tag stock. I also have been fighting the issue of an Error 500 at the
time of printing. Does anyone have a modified crystal report they
would be willing to share, or possible lead me in the right direction
to resolve my dilemma. Any help would be appreciated.

Mike,
If you edit the PartTags.rpt or Rcvlabel.rpt depending on which you are
using, set the page size to your label size in page layout. Then you will
find if you use the section expert (right click on the details section on
the left of the report and choose format section) in the left pane select
Details (not Details a...) there will be a Layout tab on the right. This is
where you will set up the label size. The section called "Number of Details"
should read 1 and 1 if you have set it up correctly. Then just layout the
label as needed.
Good luck,
Aaron Hoyt
