I'm on version 6.10.542 and am trying to print move order tags for
each container of parts. I have the data collection module and can
see where I can print tags there. However, it looks like you can
only print tags for a quantity that you are entering as production at
that moment. We often move parts multiple times per shift and not
necessarily in any fixed amount per container (we weigh count many
things - stamping is usually the originating sequence).
Conversely, we often move a pallet load of maybe 20 or 30 pans of
parts only when it's full which often spans more than one shift. I
want a tag on each pan. Susequent operations will move also partials
as needed.
Anybody doing something like this? We're having a lot of trouble
keeping counts straight and having more than one job number for a
particular part being processed through the plant at any one time
adds to the confusion.
For the most part, we're not even making many assemblies so this
should not be as tough as we're making it look. Most finished goods
parts are single parts with multiple (6 to 10) process sequences.
What are some of the things others are doing to either print move
tags on demand in the quantities needed or other ideas on how to
really get a handle on better reporting discipline?
