Thanks for your response Todd...
After I sent the message, I logged on to one of the workstations as the
administrator, and I was able to create the pdf file. It must have
something to do with permisions. I right clicked on the vntgwk52 folder
and selected properties, but I didn't see anything about security on that
folder. The C Drive is has the FAT file system. Is that why I don't see
the security tab? What file is Crystal accessing that is locked?
When creating the file, the "Save As" dialog box defaulted to the vntgwk52
directory.
I did copy the C:\Winnt\Crystal folder from one of the workstations that
has Crystal loaded on it to one of the workstations that was giving us
errors to see if that would help. It didn't.....

Just a stab in the dark but do the ones that work have Crystal 8.5 loaded
on
them? I think there may be a chance you need some of the Crystal .dlls
from
the \epic52\vantage\dll folder loaded onto the workstations so that they
can
interact with the local PDF Writer driver. Another thought, could there be
a locking issue with the .DBF files? Are all the workstations using a
local
vntgwk52 folder for a working directory?
Also there was a posting last August about this and there was something to
do with insufficient connections (?) but that was with W2K not NT 4.0.
But
is the machine with the PDF Writer possibly a NT Workstation and not a full
server? Could there be something like an allowed number of connections on
the share?
Just a few places I where I would start at (that last item especially).

I am having trouble printing Crystal Report Forms to Adobe Acrobat PDF
Writer. Is anyone else having this problem? We are on Version 5.20.211.
We've been using Adobe to create pdf files for emailing on previous
version, but are having trouble since we went to Vantage Version 5.2.
On our NT 4.0 workstations, some will work and some won't. The error
message that we get is "Error 545", Cannot print; file is already in use or
locked.
Thanks in advance:
Mike Moloney
