Problem with 333 Patch

Hmm... I always love it when an "enhancement" removes functionality that we
used. Thanks for the info, though.

Ever since we applied the 333 patch to Vantage 5.0, we have been having
problems trying to print a time phase report. The workstation will grind
away for about an hour and the application will bomb with a divide by zero
error in prowin32. Is anyone else having this problem?

Also, our Scheduler came to me with a problem today. In Vantage 4.0 you used
to be able to set the default for the Plant Visual Scheduling Board to "what
if". According to the documentation, you can also set the default in 5.0,
but we can't figure out where. Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Thanks

We installed 5.0 this weekend and applied the 333 patch. Our scheduler has
the same issue with not being able to go directly to what-if, it always
returns the default to 'View Only' I have looked everywhere that I can
think of, but can not figure out how to get the default to be 'what-if'.
Also, in scheduling, when he makes a change to the schedule, in 4.0 it would
update immediately, now, on 5.0, it does not update, even if he clicks
'refresh'. He has to close and re-open for the change to take affect.

I plan on calling this into support as soon as I have some time. If anyone
has a solution, please tell me!

Thanks,

Sarah

I had a report problem after the .332 patch. Is it a crystal report or the
"built-in" one? If it is a cyrstal report you may want to open it in
crystal and verify the database. Just a thought.....

Brian,

I just received feedback from Epicor Tech support that this was an
enhancement in 5.0. the have purposely set it so that the default is ALWAYS
view-only, even if you want it to be what-if. There are no plans to fix it.

Apparently, some companies were having a problem with the default being
what-if. If they tried to get into the schedule when someone else was using
it, they couldn't; not even to look at it. So that's why this change made
was made. I suggested an enhancement that would allow you to have it be a
configurable option for your company, or by user, that way it could work for
both types of companies.
