Problems Starting Vantage App Server

We re-set the memory back to what it was originally and we are back up and running.

Thanks.

Last night our IT administrator performed a defragment of our database server. I'm not certain if the Vantage databases were stopped prior to the defrag.

Today we cannot start our Vantage application servers. We also can not launch the vantage admin tools. We get an error "unable to attach shared memory".

The Vantage database does start. The application servers do not...

Any help will be appreciated!!!

Review the app server logs to find why they won't start.

I've had issues like this in the past where I've made changes to the app
servers and failed to restart them immediately....then weeks later I
restart them to find they won't start. The problem has been with the
original changes where I was trying to commit too much memory or similar
issues. I've found reviewing the app server logs generally points me in
the right direction. Assuming you're on 8.03, they're in the
\epicor\mfgsys803\server\logs folder.

Subject: [Vantage] Problems Starting Vantage App Server

Last night our IT administrator performed a defragment of our database
server. I'm not certain if the Vantage databases were stopped prior to
the defrag.

Today we cannot start our Vantage application servers. We also can not
launch the vantage admin tools. We get an error "unable to attach shared
memory".

The Vantage database does start. The application servers do not...

Any help will be appreciated!!!

Thanks... We'll try this.

We were having some problems a while back with users being able to connect. We did a webex with Vantage support. I know they made some changes to some of the databse configurations.

I'm not certain if the servers were ever restarted until now. This might be the problem. I'll pass this along to our technical person.

This might be our problem..

I appreciate the response.

Please bear with me... I'm not a IT person. I may not be using all the exact technical terms.
