Problems with an SSRS report generating in a converted Kinetic 2025.2 pilot instance

Background: Upgrading from 10.2.700.26 Classic interface to Kinetic 2025.2 (will use classic interface at first as we migrate the screens to the Kinetic UI)

We have a heavily modified AR Invoice form, from our 10.2.700.26 system, that when we run it in the Pilot system, it throws an SSRS error. The new Base report works correctly.
When I look at the Report Server database, it did not create the guid related tables in the report server.

In looking at the base report and comparing it to the modified version, the base version has 16 data sources, our modified version has 46 (really!). So in comparing the 2 Data Definitions, I am seeing some calculated fields in ours that no longer exist in the base, for those 16 data sources. Before I went too far down the path of removing all of the extra calculated fields, I wanted to see if anyone had run into this, and had a better solution.

I did do a comparison between all of the data source table’s schemas in SQL, and only found 3 removed fields in the list. I made sure those fields were not on the Exclusions tab, so I do not think those are the issue (but I may be wrong)

SSRS Error:

Going to suggest that one of your relationhips in the RDD is not correct (not set to output) or your sql query in the rdl is referencing a wrong table.

46 tables data sources seems over the top. That did raise an eyebrow, and I would also be inclined to review both the rdls and the rdd for the new version vs the old, even going to the effort to create a new rdd from the base and starting from there.

There are also a lot of posts here that refer to the 500 error that you mentioned as well

For those 3 fields that were removed, you also need to search in the .rdl files for references to those fields. RDL file format is just XML on the inside, so if you open the .rdl files in a text editor you can do a search for those field names.

Frankly, the AR Form report always broke during updates until just a year or two ago. We recently upgraded from 10.2.700 to 2025.2 and it was easier to just recreate the reports after the migration than it would have been to find what was wrong and fix it.

That’s where I am tending to lean also, but I am seeing where we can try to save the time. So far this is the largest issue I can see so far.
I don’t think it is an RDL issue, since it never gets to the stage of generating the Report Server tables for the report. Maybe I am wrong, but I figure what I learn from this first exercise will help guide any other similar issues I run into during this process.

I might be misremembering, but I’m 95% sure that if the SSRS rendering fails because of an issue with the RDL statement, the tables won’t exist in the report data database. Any time I’ve tried to generate a report for design where the RDL fails, I can’t even get the data tables to generate.

Thanks for the insight. I will look in the RDL xml then and see if I can see those 3 fields. SSRS is not my favorite beast to tackle.
