Product Configurator v5.1

Martin,
Out of the box, you have the option to use dashes (hyphons?), space, slashes or underscore as separators of your inputs if you choose the option "Smart String Constructed from Inputs." There is no option to use dots (full stops) as separators.

You can, however, use full stops if you really need to. You can create fill-in inputs which contain the dots you require and add them to the smart string. I use this when I need a "/" separator at only one or two locations but do not need it to separate all inputs in the smart string. On the Smart String section of the Product Configurator module, I choose "No Separator" and add the fill-in input(s) only where needed.

Subject: [Vantage] Product Configurator v5.1

We're currently in the progress of investigating the use of the product
configurator for one of our company's. We had the training some time
back and now we seem to be getting mixed messages back, from our project
team, concerning whether or not you can have full stops and hyphons
within a part number that may be used in the configurator. The help
desk doesn't seem to know the answer.

If anybody could shed any light on the situation I'd be most grateful.
