Anyone out there have a crystal reports version of the Production Detail Report they would be willing to share with me? I'm on version 8.0, Crystal XI.

The standard PDR report for vantage 8 is a crystal report. This was quite a
disappointment since the performance of the progress report is much better.
I have both 6.1 and 8.0 (Test environment) running on the same server. The
PDR in 6.1 preview prints instantly (2 seconds or less), the crystal version
takes about 30-40 seconds. Doesn't sound like a lot, but we run an average
of 1200 jobs per month. Each job's PDR is reviewed first by the department
manager then by accounting for completeness and accuracy before capturing
the WIP. So what is a 10-15 minute print waiting period per month becomes
about 10 hours!

Are you sure it is 8.0 and not 8.03? Because in my version 8 it is
still a progress report.

That is one of the main reasons we have not switched to 8.0 yet. We also
use the report extensively and cannot tolerate that lengthy print time.
Users would mutiny!

I don't know if this would work...

Get a copy of the report from 8.03
Scrub for table/field changes made in 8.03
Create the Report Data Definition and Report Maintenance for
the "custom report"
Create a new menu item with the "Custom Report Link"

Again...I am not sure this would work but it's worth a shot.
