Progress Idle Time Out

Hi Jim

We are using shop floor data collection with TT5 terminals via a gateway
client, not inputting data at client.

Subject: [Vantage] Progress Idle Time Out

Hi,

I just signed up for this listserv and have been reading some replies on an
email sent about Idle Timeout for user in the vantage database. We are
currently using Vantage 4.00.902 with Progress Patch 9.0B44. Where can I
find more information about this Timeout to see if I meet the requirements
for this timeout? I also have noticed that alot of the concerns so far have
been that it may timeout the data collection terminals. I may be speaking
without knowing the full story, but it would seem that if data is being
exchanged from the database to the terminal it is NOT idle regardless if
there is a person there entering in data. It would be similar to running
MRP in vantage, the user isnt actually doing work but the program is
interfaceing with the database, this seems like its the same sort of
situation and it would not get timed out. Again, I may be responding
without knowing the full story, but I thought it may help.

Thanks in advance for any information you all could pass on about this Idle
Timeout for Vantage.
