Hi Ronald,
This is exactly what I thinking... LOL. I'll give it a shot.

Thanks Millions - Les

I've created a payroll.p file to export payroll data. This links to a
desktop icon. The purpose is to give one of our employees the ability
to do this themself, without giving them access to the export
utility. Thanks to some help from Troy F, this works great. I'd like
to be able to allow the user to input a date range based on the
payrolldate field. A beginning and ending date. Do any of you know
what the code for this would be? Any additional ideas, are welcomed.

Les,

something like:

DEFINE BUTTON Btn_OK AUTO-GO LABEL "OK" SIZE 14 BY 1.
DEFINE VARIABLE StartDate AS DATE LABEL "StartDate" NO-UNDO.
DEFINE VARIABLE EndDate AS DATE LABEL "EndDate" NO-UNDO.

DEFINE FRAME Dialog-Frame
StartDate AT ROW 2 COL 10
EndDate AT ROW 2 COL 40
Btn_OK AT ROW 4 COL 30
SPACE(30)
SKIP(1)
WITH VIEW-AS DIALOG-BOX SIDE-LABELS NO-UNDERLINE THREE-D
TITLE "Date Range"
DEFAULT-BUTTON Btn_OK.

ON WINDOW-CLOSE OF FRAME Dialog-Frame DO:
APPLY "END-ERROR":U TO SELF.
END.

ON CHOOSE OF Btn_OK DO:
RUN payroll.
END.

MAIN-BLOCK:
DO ON ERROR UNDO MAIN-BLOCK, LEAVE MAIN-BLOCK
ON END-KEY UNDO MAIN-BLOCK, LEAVE MAIN-BLOCK:

DISPLAY StartDate EndDate WITH FRAME Dialog-Frame.
ENABLE StartDate EndDate Btn_OK WITH FRAME Dialog-Frame.
VIEW FRAME Dialog-Frame.

WAIT-FOR GO OF FRAME Dialog-Frame.
END.
HIDE FRAME Dialog-Frame.

PROCEDURE payroll:

/* start here your code

something like:

FOR EACH PAYROLL WHERE PayRollLDate >= startdate
AND PayRollLDate <= Enddate
no-lock:

....
END.
*/

END PROCEDURE.
