What is the “protected” field for when looking up a BAQ name? I exported all my BAQ names and info from this form, and noticed that protected field at the end. What sets it?
Good Morning NateS,
I understand that you are looking for more information on protected fields in the context of a BAQ (Business Activity Query).
The “protected” field indicates whether a BAQ is protected from modifications by users. When a BAQ is marked as protected, it means that only users with specific permissions can edit or delete it–this is typically set to ensure the integrity and security of critical queries that are essential for business operations.
To answer your second question; the protected status is usually set by the administrator or the user who creates the BAQ, depending on the security requirements and the importance of the data being queried.
Regards,
Alex
I still don’t see how that flag gets set. I can assign a security ID to my BAQ but that doesn’t set the protected flag.
This is a good question–I can’t find anything on it.
I wonder if this is one of those fields where they added it, but never actually did anything with it in the end?
I literally had this same question and conversation in my head a few days ago when I noticed it too.
Doesn’t even seem to be that since it actually does something. Just not sure how to set it without cheating.
The fun part about this is, even though I’m the author and have God-mode in Epicor, I can’t do anything to this query anymore, lol.
Good day fellow humans!
I don’t have any protected BAQ’s. So I can’t rabbit hole. What happens if you look up QueryHdr.DisplayPhrase?
You’re welcome. I knew you were bored on Friday!
@NateS it’s for partners to hide their stuff when they import solutions if they’re sensitive about their code.
Darn partners, always being so sensitive
