Our company produced a “Part X” that goes through (2) weld operations. Once “Part X” is through the 2nd weld operation, on part gets pulled at that operation as a subassembly, and goes through subassembly operation for weld sectioning. “SubAssem X” ends up getting scrapped, and the rest of the lot continues to be made into “Part X”.
I have SubAssem X as a material of Part X, and the assembly options that are checked are Pull as Assembly and View as Assembly.
The issue I’m having, is I cannot give a fixed quantity to this sub assembly. When I check the Fixed QTY Box and set the QTY/Parent to 1, it doesn’t acknowledge that, and pulls demand of the subassembly equal to that of the lot size of Part X. For example if lot size is 200, it says I need 200 subassemblies as well.
Is there a way to make this subassembly a fixed quantity of 1? I can make the Qty/Parent a fraction of the lot size (for example .005 for a lot size of 200), but our lot sizes change and I don’t want to update this for each job.
