So we had this issue in Epicor 9… it is slightly better in Kinetic but I am hoping there is some type of setting that will allow this to work better.
So if we pull details from an old job or an approved method we can confirm the labor, burden and material prices for stock/inventory material updates as well as any descriptions or comments for that material.
If you pull details from an older quote the labor and burden is at least updating but the stock/inventory material pricing, description and comments do not
We are a job shop so a lot of the parts we build do not repeat. We have a standard here if a part repeats 3 times, we setup the part and create a method.
We have inventory material parts setup in our system that get used inside of other parts in jobs that may not be setup.
If we pull from olds jobs we notice labor / burden and these material prices are automatically updated when getting details.
We can pull from the quote of that old job with the same exact details, and the material prices will not update.
To me this doesn’t make any sense. Why wouldn’t you want your inventory materials to come in with updated pricing when pulling from anywhere. And why would it work when pulling from a job and not a quote with the same exact details.
I just want the prices to update while getting details.
If there is a way to create a button to refresh material pricing, I would totally take that option to. Right now in order to get the parts to update we delete a character off the end of the part number hit tab, re-enter the character and hit tab and the part updates with any description or pricing changes to what is in the part master. Some quotes have 20 - 30 materials that need updating so a single button would be great.
If there is someone that can point me to a step by step or in the direction of learning how to create that it would be much appreciated.
