I'm trying to create a Crystal Report from a BAQ.  I did everything up until designing the report, including:

  • creating a BAQ and New Report Definition in BAQ Report Designer
  • getting correct filepaths in BAQ Report Options
  • generating sample data
I can edit the report by finding and opening it on my computer.  2 rows of data are displayed in the preview when I do this, which is what the manual says.  However, when I edit and save the report, and then Test Report Form, the report is blank.  Furthermore, I can't design the report directly from Epicor.  When I choose Design Crystal Report from the Actions tab, Crystal 2008 opens, and gives me the following error: Crystal Reports: Application Error Couldn't load keydecoder.dll.  Seems like something isn't linking properly between Crystal and Epicor, but I have no idea exactly what it is or how to fix it.

Epicor Support's advice was to re-install Crystal.  I have a feeling they don't know what they're talking about.  Has anyone had this problem before?

Thanks,
Tyler

The option to either Remove or Repair the Crystal Reports program should be available when you run the uninstaller.  Try to do a Repair first to see if that will clear up the issue.

For testing the BAQ Report, you must first Deploy BAQ Report from the Actions menu.  This copies the Crystal Report from your local machine to the Custom Reports folder on the server.  The Test Report action uses the server copy and not the local copy of the report when run.
