We have several parts that when the job wizard is run, they are automatically being checked as purchase direct. BUT they are stock parts and the non-stock box is NOT checked on the general and site tabs. They are also NOT checked as buy to order, link to contract, or drop ship. I looked at the BOM’s and did not see anything there to cause this. Anything else I should check?
Make sure they do not have leading or trailing spaces. We had some that they had pasted in and even though they looked good they were not actually referencing the part.

In the job material.
What if the jobs are being automatically created by the job wizard? Could that still be the case?
Yes, If the bom material had the extra space issue then it could copy it to the job as a part on the fly.

Assuming that if you add the part manually to a job it gets marked as direct then turn on tracing with the full dataset and response data, check trigger, bpm and db and add the part and look at all of the methods and see if you can find where the buy direct flag gets set.
Not sure I know how to do the tracing.
You need to download the ice tools guide from EpicWeb to get the details, but this is the general idea. Assuming you are using one of the Classic UIs turn on tracing
Set options and ok
Do the processing in the sceen you want to trace.
Return to tracing options and click view.
