Purchase suggestions for product already in transit

Sounds like a bug...it should only be suggesting expedite. What version
are you on? Have you checked with support to see if it's a known bug?

Since our go-live 1st of may i have noticed that if we have product in transit on a container mrp will make a suggestion for a new purchase order. I would expect to see perhaps an expedite suggestion but not a new purchase suggestion. We can control this for sales orders by moving demand dates to match supply dates but demand created by on-hand min is not date tested upfront.

The concern is that product is showing up on the buyer's workbench for an unnecessary purchase.

Have others noticed this and if so what measures did you put in place to prevent potential errors?

Thanks for your time,
Bill
MRP is probably making the suggestion because the material is not
scheduled to arrive on time and MRP wants another order to take care of
the situation. Evaluate the demand / PO due date situation and make some
date adjustments to handle it.

You are correct that date maintenance will fix the issue for sales order demand; but the issue is on items we carry an on-hand minimum for and purchase from over seas where we will enter a container shipment for. Note: this is only an issue on container shipments for non-sales order demand.

Are we the only ones to have this issue?
