Which version of Vantage are ya' running?
In 5.0 and up, a buyer will only see their own suggestions and those for
other buyers that they have PO update privileges for. For subcontract ops,
the buyer will be pulled from the operation code. I'm not sure what
happens if that's not filled in - there may not be a suggestion generated
at all. 5.0 also added a "default buyer" check box to the buyers
table. That may be what's used in that case (I haven't played with it that
extensively since our 5.0 upgrade.)
You might also double check that there isn't already a PO written for the
op. If so, it might be in the Change Suggestions rather then the New
Suggestions. I have a nice report for change suggestions, if anyone would
like.

Hello all,
We are on Vantage 4.00.811 running MRP. Having run
"Generate Suggestions" and then using the "PO Change"
option in Purchase suggestions we only have
"expedites" and no other exceptions - they are always
"greyed out". I don't think our Purchasing is so
good that we never need to defer or cancel any PO's.
I have approached Epicor here in UK, without a
resolution. Does anyone else have this problem & if
so, how did you resolve it?

Do you have any value in the Maximum stock fields. If the maximum stock value is 0 then the computer will not see any reason not to hold the stock for ant particular period hence no cancellations, reductions or postponements.

The only times we've seen things not show up in suggestions is if the job
was not scheduled, or if there was no quantity. Sorry I can't be of more
help.

Buyer is one of those "neat" features but you better be prepared.
You add buyer to the operation, so. . .if you have a generic operation
called "subcontracting" only the buyer attached to that operation can
process that purchase order UNLESS in buyer you have added
an "authorized user" under the buyer.
