Toby I am interested in others approach on this as well. We do not use the scrap reason codes but we do add a sub-assembly oper to the job for the rework and label it as such and only put the needed operations to help it catch up with the other parts. Sometimes we just fix the part if it can be tweaked and then we still enter the sub-assembly oper to get the program fixed and then our quality person tracks our cost for rework. It works but would like to here other methods of tracking rework cost as well as scrap. Dee

Subject: [Vantage] QA Module (6.10)
Wondering if someone can help explain to me how scrap and rework is
claimed with using the QA module.
A major question is how to I claim scrap for a prior work center and how
do I schedule rework of a part to a specific work center.
For example, the saws cut 5 rods and they go to the lathes. The lathes
realize that 1 rod is too short and they cannot use it. At that point
can I scrap the 1 rod and charge it to the saws? Since that part needs
to be remade would you consider it rework? If it is rework how would I
get it back in the saws queue so they know they need to make another rod
to length, and how does the rework get recorded?
Epicor wasn't very helpful in identifying the process for us and the
documentation only explains how it works, not the flow or process.
