I work with Stephanie at K-T. We updated all the DMR-REJ parttrans records Plant and Plant2 fields to "Vantage" and now everything shows up as it should.

Confirmed. We are testing/training on 6.0 now. I just did a test DMR
reject in 6.0 and you can see it in the transaction history. However, for
one that was done (long) before 6.0 it does not show up. As we are still
working to 5.0, I checked and the DMR-reject (same part #) is visible in the
current version transaction history.

I don't know what that means but I can confirm your findings.

Well I have found one little curious item -- If I look at the part
transaction table there are two fields "Plant" and "Plant2" before vatage
6.0 they were blank after Vantage they say Vantage: Vantage... Cause now I
find the DMR that were rejected after 6.0 are there it is all the dmrs that
were answered before we went to 6.0 that are now missing......

Probably not since it would link to one of them (but maybe have screwy
description) and inetaed I was thinking more like it was not finding the
reason so just skipping showing the transaction. I would think this would
happen only of you had a reason code in one type and not in the other - such
as having a DMR reason code 06 but the RMA codes ending at 05 - then if the
type code (which you have no control over) was messed up in the internal
linking (A instead of D) it would not find a type/code match for A06 and
skip the transaction. This was why I was thinking to look at the DMRs you
closed but are not showing up and see if they are pointing at a reason code
that does not exist as another type (probably RMA type).

How close are your reason codes for DMR and RMA? The reason I ask is here
is some text from some posts I made a few months ago about an apparent bug
in 5.20.313. A bug that Tech Support could not duplicate but which I think
they did not understand very well either.

In RMA Disposition none of the RMA type reson codes (entered via QA mod
Reason Code Maint) show up in the drop down list that is activated when
failing returned parts. But when the same reasons are added under DMR type
they do show up in the drop down list. Likewise when I add a reason via the
drop down list (using the <add>) the reason gets added to the DMR types. So
both ways it is using the DMR type reason codes. Apparently it does not use
the codes entered for RMA type at all. There was a change realted to
linking RMAs amf DMR between 5.10 and 5.20 so maybe this was part of that.


What this says to me is that there is a bug in the code as relates to the
type in the reason code table being used by the RMA Disposition screen.
Those "types" are bolted into the system (can't add or delete types). In
the Disposition screen I have a strong hunch that the type is hard coded in
the link to the Reason table (A for RMA, D for DMR) and that "D" got used
when it should have been "A". Then in the RMA Processing screens "A" was
used so it looks up the description for the RMA reason. Should be easy
enough for them to check the code and verify (and fix).

OK, my wild theory in this case, which might explain why some show up and
not others:
If this bug still exists and your DMR reasons are similar to the RMA reasons
then if you happen to have one youa re using for DMR that is not also an RMA
the tracker may not find it and might be losing the entire record. I've
seen this behavior before in trackers. Check the reason codes on some of
the missing transactions and you might want to also add it to RMA reasons
and see if it suddenly appears. The tracker may be mixing up the type
codes. A long shot but easy to try.

Yep that is what I mean... if you look at the tables behind vantage the transaction is there it just isn't showing up in transaction history

So I guess your telling me that it isn't happening for you ....I just haven't had much help when I have called support since we have gone to 6... I have asked this question (but in the middle of a different call) and the response I got was to contact our sales rep... I don't think we have one... didn't like the one we started with and haven't ever heard from one since then...

does not show that the dmr was rejected or answered in any way. I was
wondering if this was some known change from 5.1. We went from 5.1 to
6.0 and the quality seems to have changed quite a bit. I just need to
know if there was some reason to take items off the transaction history
on the part tracker?

Stephanie, we are running 6.0 on a test database right now.
I took some parts that were reported as scrap from a job, sent them to a
DMR, and then rejected the parts. I do see both the INS-DMR and the
DMR-REJ transactions in transaction history.

wondering if this was some known change from 5.1. We went from 5.1 to
6.0 and the quality seems to have changed quite a bit. I just need to
know if there was some reason to take items off the transaction history
on the part tracker?

transaction showed up in Part Tracker ...

I took some parts that were reported as scrap from a job, sent them to a
DMR, and then rejected the parts. I do see both the INS-DMR and the
DMR-REJ transactions in transaction history.

I have asked this question (but in the middle of a different call) and the
response I got was to contact our sales rep... I don't think we have one...
didn't like the one we started with and haven't ever heard from one since

Yep that is what I mean... if you look at the tables behind vantage the
transaction is there it just isn't showing up in transaction history

I have a question for anyone that is on 6.0 and uses the quality
module.... we are having quite a few dmrs that the transaction history
does not show that the dmr was rejected or answered in any way. I was
wondering if this was some known change from 5.1. We went from 5.1 to
6.0 and the quality seems to have changed quite a bit. I just need to
know if there was some reason to take items off the transaction history
on the part tracker?
