there is a utility you can run to correct the demand quantity.

To run the utility:

- ensure all users are logged off Vantage (otherwise the utility
will skip the parts they may be working on)
- go to System Management, Utilities, Database Conversions
- click on number '6430 Recalculate Part On Hand/Allocation
Summaries'
- from the menu, select Conversion, Run Conversion Program
- click on 'Yes'
- once the utility has finished select Conversion, View Run Log
where the message should say the utility was completed succesfully

Depending on the size of your database, this utility can be run
within 2 to 3 minutes.

Hello all,

In the Part File Maintenance, it shows the On hand Qty, Demand and Availability of parts. Does anybody know how the Demand quantity is calculated? What tables and fields is it looking at? Does it have to be a job that is Firm, Release, scheduled?

Thanks,

Jasper

Jasper,

Check your Time Phase for the part. This should explain where the demand is
generated.

We have 3 jobs that require the same part. The quantity on demand for those
jobs is 588 of that part. For some reason, Vantage is showing the quantity
on demand to be 1176. Twice the amount. I have searched for other jobs
that require that part but only the original 3 jobs have it. What are the
determining factors that effect the Quantity on Demand? What are some
suggestions on how to figure out why it's doubling the demand quantity?
