Hi Mike,

After you install the progress and Vantage6.1, you should
modify the \mfgsys61\db\mfgsys.pf to support Simplified Chinese, but
before
you run the schema change, you must change the setting to UTF-8, then
schema
able to run properly, Hope this help.

After you install Vantage

-Mm 1024 -mmax 4000 -Bt 200 -s 63 -yy 1970 -stsh 31 -inp 12288

-d ymd

-lng "Sim. Chinese"

-cpcase Basic

-cpcoll Basic

-cpinternal cp936

-cpstream cp936

-cprcodein cp936

Before you run the schema change

-Mm 1024 -mmax 4000 -Bt 200 -s 63 -yy 1970 -stsh 31 -inp 12288

-d ymd

-lng "Sim. Chinese"

-cpcase Basic

-cpcoll Basic

-cpinternal UTF-8

-cpstream UTF-8

-cprcodein UTF-8

Best Regards,

Joey Ng

Subject: [Vantage] Question for 6.1 Unicode DB users

I've been running testing on a Vantage 6.1 Unicode Progress database. I
have the db configured to allow for Simplified Chinese input (CP936).
It's finally working. However, the Vantage version I'm running is
6.1.404 which is basically a fresh install w/o loading any of the
patches. After I install the 542 patch, I get the following error
message when running the Change Schema program:

Code Page conversion ISO8859-1 to CP936 was not found in CONVMAP.CP
(6063)

Then the program stops.

I'm wondering what or how any other users (probably in Asia) are
installing any 6.1 patches and installing them. Any insight is
appreciated!

Thanks!
