Hi there Vantage Gurus,

I'm currently facing the following problem.

My customer in Indonesia keyed in all the open invoices using AP open
invoice load. They tried keying in the payments as follows.

1) The payment is for a foreign currency invoice
2) Exchange rate is defined under multicurrency.
3) Payment entry screen selected and using add group selected the relevant
foreign bank account (The bank account is defined under bank account
maintenance in AP).
4) Selected add payment and selected the relevant Vendor
5) When browsing for the invoices, all the foreign currency invoices
display a zero balance (See the attachment page 1). therefore when we try to
select the invoice and when keying in the payment amount the system displays
an error message stating that the amount should be greater than the invoice
balance (See attachment page 2).
6) Further checked for errors by using the invoice tracker, and the invoice
details are displayed correctly with the correct balance.

I even tried to add a new open invoice load and try to key in a new payment.
The result is the same even for the new invoice (i.e. the balance being
displayed as ZERO)

Has anyone encountered a similar problem.

P.S: They are using version 4.0 with the patch 812.

Hi, is there anyone out there on this fine Saturday morning, that could help
us with a problem we are having doing the schema change for patch 4.00.904?
We installed the patch, restarted the database, and then click on the schema
change, and we get the Choose application to open window. We are waiting
for technical help from Epicor, but thought we would try egroups, in the
meantime.

Did you do exactly like step 9 of the installation guide suggested?

9. Schema changes need to be applied to your database and the database
server needs to be started prior to running the schema changes. Right click
on the start button and select Explore. In the Explorer locate your server
and go into the Epicor folder. From the Epicor folder select Vantage.
Within the Vantage folder locate the Schema Change.vtg file. Double-click
this file.

Another screen will display stating that the programs are at
4.00.904 and
the database is 4.00.xxx. In the password field enter changeschema and
click Continue. This process will tie up your computer while the changes
are applied. Running the schema change should be less than 5 minutes but
could finish in a few seconds. When finished you should receive a message
that says 0 errors. Click OK and exit Explorer. Your schema changes have
now been applied.

That was all I did and it worked fine.

Not sure exactly what you mean by "Choose application." Is that where
Windows doesn't know what to do with a file type? It comes up "open with"
my PC, but I think it's different in various windoze versions.

If that's the case... you've got bad information in the shortcut, or your
PC doesn't know what to do with a .VTG file. Are you running it from the
server, or a regular machine? Assuming you're on a PC with the 4.0 client
stuff previously installed, try going to the Vantage drive letter; find
the "schema change.vtg" (or whatever - that's close) and run it.

We are doing it from the server. We followed #9 instructions, we are
now getting the error "Startup file not found".

We found out that we had to do it from a terminal. It Worked!!!!

Is anyone out there having a problem keeping a connection to the 5.0
database through the Progress Explorer tool? I got the schemachange to run
from 4.0 to 5.0 but I can't get my database to startup. I get a 8619 error
preceded by a 246 error. I am waiting for support but nothing they have
tried is working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are talking about checks to vendors, there are some parameters you
can change in the vantage.ini file. You can change the lines per page, the
perf-line, and the font. That's about it. And it's somewhat trial and
error.

no longer have a need for.

One is 28'x19" Sound Write by Ring King.

The other has no name on it but is the same size but would probably only be
suited for shop use or other non- highly visible area.

Subject: idxbuild will not work

I am trying to rebuild the index on my databases after performing the
restore but it will not work. It crashes with no real explanation. I have
tried both the instructions in the 5.0 install manual and the more detailed
4.0 found on Eranet but to no avail. Anyone have problems with this phase
of the upgrade?? Any suggestions?

Anyone using TT5's seen the install methods for the 5.0 upgrade? No mention
of it in the manuals I received or on Epicor's website. Do you ever get the
feeling they are trying to forget about us?

Is anyone tired of editing every fricking report for each update. Why can't
they write a routine into their installation that finds all reports setup in
the menu structure and alter the parameters that change to maintain there
availability? Or search for all *.prl files and change each report in the
library?
