Quick Crystal Help

Joe,
Hopefully you have seen Chris' response but in case not here's the list of
codes that Jeff Jaske provided a while back which has been of great help to
us. Thanks again, Jeff!

Scott,
Just in case Chris is in Vegas........
the %D replicates an ALT keystroke thus a barcode representation
"*%DAP*"
scanned at the Labour Entry mainscreen will equate to the employee
selecting
Start Activity/Production.
We have barcoded all the main transaction flow, ie Start Production,
Start
Indirect, etc etc, using this approach and it works well for us. The
only
time our employees need the keyboard is to enter the Qty Achieved when
Ending Activity.
Please contact me if I can be of any help
Regards,
Richard

Chris,

Where did you get the "%DA" from. My assumption it is the "code" for
start
production activity. Is this for version 8.0 or an earlier release. I
would
also like to do this for starting a Production or Setup Activity.

Thanks,

Try using this formula

"*" & Trim ({JobOper.JobNum}) & "$M" & Trim ({@AsmSeqString},0) & "$M" &
Trim ({@OprSeqString},0) & "$M" & "*"

Adding the ,0 at the end should take care of the .00

Hello,

I'm working on a barcoded labor report for labor entry on Plant Floor.

Here is my formula:
"*" & Trim ({JobOper.JobNum}) & "$M" & Trim ({@AsmSeqString}) & "$M" &
Trim ({@OprSeqString}) & "$M" & "*"

The @AsmSeqString and @OprSeqString convert the numeric fields into
string fields (so the trim function can be used) and the $M represents
a carriage return (i think) in ASII.

The result of this formula give me the Asm and Opr number is a 0.00
format. Ex:
*49101$M0.00$M10.00*

Vantage does not like the decimal and two places in the Labor Entry
screen.

Can anyone help me out? IT told me to use a "chomp" function to
eliminate the ".00" but I
cannot find it or a similar function Crystal.

Thanks!

Kelly

Hello Kelly,

It's been a really long time since I played with that problem. In
Crystal 8.5 look at options under the file pull down, select fields,
numbers, custom format, change settings there. Otherwise I would like at
the trim right function.

Or try using this formula

"*" & "%DA" & "$M" & Trim({JOBOPER.JOBNUM}) & "$M" &
Trim(totext({JobOper.AssemblySeq},0)) & "$M" & Trim
(totext({JOBOPER.OPRSEQ},0)) &"$M" & "*"

This will allow the user to scan directly into the job without first
having to select the start activity and production tabs.

Our traveller job operation bar code which gets scanned in Labour Entry is
generated using this formula,
"*" + trim({jobhead.JOBNUM} + "$I" + trim(totext({jobasmbl.ASMSEQ})) + "$I"
+ trim(totext({JOBOPER.OPRSEQ}))) + "$M" + "*"
Works great for us

Subject: [Vantage] Quick Crystal Help

Thanks!

Kelly

Scott,

This is for V6.1 but formula should be easy to modify for any version.

The %D code is used to turn on the "Alt" key

%DA = "Alt" + "A" = Start Activity

$M = Enter Key

Production is the active tab after start activity other wise it would be
%DS for setup, %DI for indirect or %DR for rework.

Chris

Below are the barcode key equivalents.

The "Shift On" is represented by $Y
The "Tab" is represented by $I
The "Shift Off" is represented by $Z
So the bar code to SHIFT+TAB would be something like $Y$I$Z

Also here is a Keyboard Equivalent Chart that may be of some use:

Key Board Key Bar Code Equivalent
F1 $A
F2 $B
F3 $C
F4 $D
F5 $E
F6 $F
F7 $G
TAB $I
PAGE UP $K
PAGE DOWN $L
ENTER $M
F8 $N
F9 $O
F10 $P
DEL $Q
INSERT $R
LEFT ARROW $S
RIGHT ARROW $T
DOWN ARROW $U
UP ARROW $V
HOME $W
END $X
SHIFT ON $Y
SHIFT OFF $Z
ESC %A
CTRL ON %B
CTRL OFF %C
ALT ON %D
ALT OFF %E
; %F
< %G
= %H
> %I
? %J
[ %K
\ %L
] %M
^ %N
_ %O
{ %P
} %R
~ %S
SPACE ,
! /A
" /B
# /C
$ /D
% /E
& /F
' /G
( /H
) /I
* /J
+ /K
, /L
/ /O

Hope this is of some help.

Chris,

Where did you get the "%DA" from. My assumption it is the "code" for
start
production activity. Is this for version 8.0 or an earlier release. I
would
also like to do this for starting a Production or Setup Activity.

Thanks,

Try using this formula

"*" & Trim ({JobOper.JobNum}) & "$M" & Trim ({@AsmSeqString},0) & "$M" &
Trim ({@OprSeqString},0) & "$M" & "*"

Adding the ,0 at the end should take care of the .00
