Quick Customization question

Hello,

When creating a new customization (in this case adding a field to the form), what is the best practice so that this sits nicely with the other customizations already on the form?

The user guide says choose “Base” but when I do that I do not see the fields added from previous user customizations - which would be nice to see. Would I open an existing customization on build on top of that one?

Any clarity would be appreciated.

Thank you
Pete

It depends on if you are using the Kinetic forms or the old classic forms. For classic, you have to edit an existing customization, then save it as a new one. For Kinetic you have to open the layer customization, then either add to it, or merge it with your new custom layer.
When you are done, don’t forget to update the customization default in the menu maintenance.
Good Luck!
Nate

Thanks Nate - For the moment, we are still using the classic forms. Appreciate the help

one last question. If another user is working on the same form and has a customization in progress, is it best that only one person works on it at a time? We are doing separate activities touching the same form.

Not exactly sure if you have a recommended approach in that example.

We always find it best to have one person do the edits. However, you should be able to easily share customizations. Just make sure only one of you are editing the customization at a time.
