Quote Lines Blank Title 73064

Vic,

We have the same problem and resolved it by customizing the Quote &
Sales Order grids to include field "Number01". This allows us to
renumber and sort on this field. We needed to be able to 'Insert' a
new row and by using decimals, this can be done. It does require
customization of the Quote and Sales Order Acknowledgement forms to
display the Number01 field, but this has worked for us.

We need to now modify that quote. We delete Line 2 and append a new
line, Line 11.



On the Quote Form when printed, the Quote Lines show: 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7,
8, 9, 10 ,11



This seems to be a concern. :-) They'd prefer 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8,
9, 10



There's no way within the Vantage UI to "refresh" the Quote lines so
they re-sequence themselves so there's no Line Numbers missing?

Sounds like you would have to create your own Crystal print form to renumber this. They must think you have a lot of time on your hands! :)

Yea, I'll either omit the Line # from the Quote Form or make my own as you suggested.

Yea, we all have plenty of time for this stuff! Who needs lunches and weekends! :-)

There's a Display Sequence field you could use. What's really needed
is a Resequence function.

We ordered the list columns on both the Quote Tracker and Quote Entry
to have Line, Order Quantity, Expected Quantity, Part, Description at
the beginning to make it easier to export from one quote to another.
Some salesmen even keep groups of these in spreadsheets, ready to
import into a new quote.

And if you want to refresh the Description from the Part Master in
case it's different, simply don't include that field. If it's non-
blank, the import uses it instead of the Part Master.

You can use this technique to resequence lines as well.
