Using SC would be pretty easy. You could just run a BAQ on a timer to export
each month and have one calculated field be exported with your calculations
below.

Subject: [Vantage] Quote Number Reset

All,

Each month I have to manually go in and reset our starting quote number its
basically formatted like this ((year-2000) * 100,000) + (month * 1,000) + 1.
Which means this month's first quote will be numbered 902001.

I was wondering if there would be anyway to schedule this change to occur on
the first day of each month so that 12:01 this number would be updated
correctly.

I have SC at my disposal but it seems that doing this with a BPM may be
easier but I'm not sure how to schedule this action to take place at the
beginning of each month with a BPM.

Any Suggestions?

~Charlie
