Quote symbols in part numbers and Crystal Barcodes

Tim, you're welcome. One final note I forgot to mention, your barcode
scanners will also need to be configured to enable "Code 39 Full ASCII
Conversion".

If you happen to have Symbol scanners, there is a document also in that
folder called LS2208 Initial Setup. Check out Page 5.

We have stumbled into a Crystal barcode problem when part numbers contain certain characters like a quote ("). Many of our legacy cable assemblies include the quote symbol character in the part number reflecting length in inches. Epicor didn't have a problem with the part number during import, but Crystal doesn't want to display the barcode for it. It simply shows up as a quote symbol in the midst of the entire barcode. Any ideas or work arounds?

Thanks,
Tim

If it doesn't come across correctly go here:
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/vantage/files/Barcoding/

Open up Special Barcoding Characters.

In Crystal, create a formula for your barcoded partnumber. Use the
Replace() function in CR to change any quotes (") to a /B as shown on that
PDF referenced above.

Let me know if you need more help.
