# RB Date Calculation

Thanks, that's a much simpler formula. Where were you this morning when I
was entering Patrick's GIANT if statement formula that Todd sent? Either
way, my users are thrilled not to have to change date filters ever again on
this report! Thanks.

Our weekly labor periods run from Sunday thru Saturday. If I want to run a
report builder report for that period on any day during the following week,
is there a way to design calculated date filters so that we don't have to
enter dates every time we run the report, no matter what day of the
following week you run it?
Thanks,

Nora - this was posted originally by Pat Winter ... It should point you in
the right direction ...

----------------------

Create a variable Start_Date using the WEEKDAY command which will give you a
number 1=Sunday thru 7=Saturday.

Start_Date = IIF(WEEKDAY(TODAY()) = 1,TODAY() - 6,
IIF(WEEKDAY(TODAY()) = 2,TODAY(),
IIF(WEEKDAY(TODAY()) = 3,TODAY() - 1,
IIF(WEEKDAY(TODAY()) = 4,TODAY() - 2,
IIF(WEEKDAY(TODAY()) = 5,TODAY() - 3,
IIF(WEEKDAY(TODAY()) = 6,TODAY() - 4,
IIF(WEEKDAY(TODAY()) = 7,TODAY() - 5,TODAY())))))))

The number of days to subtract depends if you want to use a = or >= in your
filter.

In my example you would need >= in the filter.

Whatever day of the week your report is run on you will get the sales for
Monday to Date.

Nora,
Here are the formulas that I use for the same situation:

START_DATE:
TODAY() - (WEEKDAY(TODAY()) + 6)

END_DATE:
TODAY() - WEEKDAY(TODAY())

Works like a champ.
