RB Select

Along the way set a new field to be something like:
Top10Vendor = IIF(top10 = true,VendorTotal,0) so that it is zero if not a top 10 vendor.
Then aggregate on Top10Vendor into something maybe called TotalTop10Vendors - aggregated at Vendor and reset never. The zeros for non-top 10 vendors will not show in the total. Do a similar sum for all vendors if you want top 10 weight.

I'll send a PRL with a couple examples off-list.

That is perfect. Thanks for your help. I like what you are saying about the
grand total for top ten but I am not sure I understand how to pull that off.

Thanks again
Todd

I usually do a count at the same level I am aggregating to (such as Vendor)
and then create a calculated field as a flag to test on and inhibit
printing the band. Such as Top10 = IIF(VendorCnt > 10,False,True) and only
print the band line if Top10 = True. You would need to also prepass
aggregate the sum by vendor and sort descending to rank them from top down.
Once in awhile RB gets really picky about sorting on aggregates but if the
rest of the report and sorting are simple it should be able to be done.

If you want a grand total for only the top 10 then you would need to set a
conditional field and sum on that. Usually I do both a conditional sum and
a total sum (such as all vendors) and at the end express the top n as a
percentage of the whole. Might be useful to know the top 10 vendors are X%
of payables.

I have a report that calculates the SUM of APInvHed.InvoiceAmt by Vendor. I
would like to show only the top ten vendors. Can someone assist me with the
statement to select only the top ten vendor records?

Thanks
